I carved this kuksa while on a month long teaching and research trip in Sweden. I carved this one from a tree just shy of the arctic circle that the locals called “glass birch.”
It’s a beautiful vessel and already has quite the story of where it was carve, with who, and how far it’s traveled to get to it’s latest stop in Minnesota.
